This 1930's, two bedroom two bath, tin-roofed cottage,  is two blocks from the Gulf of Mexico, two blocks from the dolphins in Boca Ciega Bay, and 4 blocks to the famed John's Pass Village. (See "About the Area" - menu buttons on left) Located in one of the oldest neighborhoods on the barrier islands off Tampa Bay, our area, once the fishing stronghold of the islands, still boasts a fresh fish packing house and marina just a couple of blocks away. Sometimes called Mad Key or Mad Beach by locals, the area is full of boats, bars, bistros, characters, cats, and leisure activities. You may see tourists sporting T-shirts with the Mad Beach slogan, "A quaint little drinking village with a serious fishing problem."

Speaking of fishing, we have a charter fishing boat moored withing walking distance of the cottage. If you plan to come to the West Coast of Florida and some of your party choose to fish we may be able to combine a charter into your stay, assuming availablity of a slot. Many of our guests hang out at the beautiful white sand beach three blocks from the cottage while the anglers catch dinner. There is a fillet area at the BBQ area on the back deck. There are few things better than a freshly caught and cooked Redfish, Snook, or Sheepshead! (For charter info click button on left  - "FishDawgs".

From this location you are within twenty minutes of St. Pete Beach, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and Pass-a-grille. Dining, dancing, drinking, shopping, boating, jet skiing, fishing charters, dolphin watching, and more are within minutes. (See More Pictures and Video for some dining spots)

When you are not out and about taking in the beach and other activities we hope you’ll enjoy the cottage as if it were your own. The cottage comes fully furnished with a fully appointed kitchen and a outdoor cooking area complete with refrigerator. Off-street parking provided for two cars on our little barrier island. You are two blocks from the

Gulf of Mexico and two blocks from the Boca Ciega Bay.

Shades of Nancy's Secret Garden of Key West. Enter this 1930's cottage through a canopy of tropical plants.

Fred and Gracie, the watch flamingos, normally docile, will allow passage, assuming you can hum at least

one bar of any Jimmy Buffet song.

The cozy front living area is alight with diffused sunlight filtered through the palms, ficus, and other topical trees

surrounding the cottage. Remember to close the front door or the resident cats will be joining you for snacks.

Occasionaly one of the felines will join you for a nap on the couch.

Time to slow to beach style time, prior to unpacking, one should pause for refreshment. Bar glasses, ice, etc. are at hand. 

The owners, being long time wine enthusiasts, leave a selected bottle on the bar for guests arriving from the

dusty Florida interstates. One twelve bottle wine cooler on premise.

Should you prefer Margaritas to wine, the fully equipped kitchen has all the tools necessary to cut a couple

of limes, blend some tequila, triple sec, and lime juice and pour over a properly iced and salted rim of the hand

blown Mexican glassware.

The master bedroom and full bath features its own private door to the deck, barbecue and spa area .

The second cozy bedroom sports the original hardwood floors that have been restored.

Dine just off the kitchen on an antique English Pub table.

In need of a little TLC? This rather large sunken tub in the second bath, holds, well, more than one.

Suitable ledges for wine glasses, candles, etc.

Should you find yourself in need of a refreshing shower outside or to remove sand prior to bathing or playing

in the hot tub a convienient shower and bench is provide just outside the door to the bathroom on the back deck.

Plenty of deck space in this topical garden surrounding for dining or just a relaxing libation.

A custom built hot tub, surrounded by a 1200 gallon fish pond, awaits your submersion.

A table for two near the pond provides a wonderful area to start the day with coffee or end it with a libation as the sun sets over the Gulf.

In case your end of day relaxations require a cold beer, Guiseppe the Gecko guards the opener.
